Zha Shenxing Travel Poetry

As one of the well-known poets in early Qing dynasty, Zha shenxing had a different life experience and created unique poems in his style. He traveled a lot in his life time, especially from his thirties. He has traveled everywhere in China and left us numerous poems. In those 38 years between he was 30 and 72, he has been to Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, Fujian, Guangdong, Henan, Anhui, Guangxi, Yunnan and some other place around China. He was one of the few that who has been that many places of the poets in all time. Those rich traveling experiences of Zha shenxing not only gives him lots of materials to create poems, but also provides convenient information for people to do the research later on. This essay is based on traveling poems and made to prove Zha shenxing's unique and valuable historic status and social influence in the Chinese tourism literature and the history of tourism through his traveling experience and artistic characteristics in his poems. I hope that it can contribute to make up some of the blank space of the research of Zha shenxing.
