《Patrimony》was written by the American Jewish writer—Philip·Roth in 1991.Compared with other novels written by Jewish writers,《Patrimony》is special in three aspects: First, culture topic. Roth not only inherited the traditional Jewish culture topic, but also broke through it and extended its meaning. Second, Roth adopted the way of writing realistically in the novel, avoiding the common conception in Jewish novels. Last, Roth created various and typical person images (most of them are Jewish) in the novel, which also had relationship with different historical stages. This essay analyzes the three superior aspects in details, explaining the influence and the meaning of the three aspects, and the three points make《Patrimony》special among Jewish novels.
