Wang Poetry Study

Wang Jian was a famous poet in the middle of Tang Dynasty .He composed more than 500 poems which show rich ideologyical contents and high artistic achievement. This thesis tries to give a comprehensive research into Wang Jian and his poetry.The full thesis is divided into four parts .The first chapter is to anlyse Wang Jian's life and thoughts. According to present achievement of the study about Wang Jian ,the writer analyses Wang Jian's life from three period: studying and seclusion period,soldiering period,official and leisurely period. Wang Jian was deeply affected by the Confucian thought in his youth, while in his later years, for some reasons, Buddhism and Taoism gave wang Jian a dominant influence.ChapterⅡis to anlyse the contents of Wang Jian's poetry from four aspects: Firstly, Wang Jian's poetry reflect the social reality,such as the war,the frontier matter,the people's livelihood,the unjustifiable social phenolmenon and so on. Seeondly, Wang Jian's poetry display a multi-faceted palace life including the life of the king and the ladies in the palace. Thirdly, Wang Jian's poetry describle his own life and feeling, such as the sadness in his travelling ,the leisurely life ,the poverty,illness,loneliness in his old age. Fourthly, Wang Jian's poetry describle different scenery of our country. For example ,the broad scenery of the frontier ,the quiet and beautiful scenery of courtyard, the peculiar scenes of different region and so on.ChapterⅢis to anlyse the artistic characteristics of Wang Jian's poetry . The types of Wang Jian's poetry are various , including flexible and unique YueFu,energetic and forceful WuGu,natural QiLv,beautiful JueJu . The performance of Wang's poetry is rich and varied,for example,the usage of BaiMiao,detailes description,psyche description. In spite of this ,Wang Jian was good at metaphor ,and so on. The characteristics of Wang Jian's language is understandable and concise. We can see a lot of colloquial language in his potery, this common saying contains very deep intension inside.ChapterⅣis to discuss the position and influence of Wang Jian's poetry.His YueFu deeply influenced Zhang Ji and Yuan Zhen's YueFu,and also gave the later potes a far-reaching influence . In spite of YueFu, Wang Jian's GongCi also have a deep influence . Being called "the first person on GongCi", Wang Jian gave a good example of demonstrating the life in the royal palace .After him , the composing of GongCi reached a climax, meanwhile, his one hundred poems obtained great achievement which alse deeply influenced the later poets.
