"Saturday" is a popular literature magazine of Republic of China initial period. From 1914 to 1923, the magazine experienced the opening issue, the suspension of publication, to resume publication, finally the publication successively, was a red metropolis fashionable leisure of Republic of China initial period. From 1914 to 1916, as a main body, the magazine embodied "the entertainment", "recreational" and "the consumption", the massive novels manifested people's sadly esthetic mood; From 1921 to 1923, the magazine's later period changed into comprehensive publication, by the social novel primarily, gives either deep or the shallow performance and the discussion to each kind of social question, the partial works even display superior quality which can be compared favorably with the new-vernacular writers. Began publication from 1914 to 1916 the suspension of publication, resumed publication from 1921 to 1923 year's end publications, "Saturday" has experienced around two different historical stages, the historical influence, the social history cultural context which was concerned by exterior studies, the writer community's style, the text displayed the ideological concept, the literary style characteristic which was concerned by internal studies displayed around the great transformation.
