In the modern world, the basic forms of communication and cooperation among the nations are dialogues, but not the confrontations. For confrontations can not solve the divergence. Instead, only dialogues can eliminate the misunderstandings among them and defend the peace and stability of the whole world. The dialogue has become the theme. As a humanized activity, education must make response to this. So this requires teachers to pay their attention to establish the students'dialogue spirit in the daily teaching practice, and to teach the students to communicate and cooperate, thus to promote the construction of their subjectivities and all-round development of their personalities.The contents of researching on dialogic teaching in recent years cover from the implication, essence, and basis of theory to the form, meaning, application and the construction of it. Although we have got some achievements, there are still many shortcomings, such as obscurity about conception, putting more attention to introducing rather than digesting, attaching more importance to theory rather than practice and narrow researching field etc. In the foreign language reading teaching area, few related materials from the books, magazines or the internet are available. Among them, there is one concerning the English reading teaching in high school. This suggests that the dialogic reading teaching in college has not got the college teachers'enough attention. In fact, we have found few researchers on dialogic reading teaching in the Chinese teaching area. Just like Wang Shangwen pointed out in the introduction of his The Dialogues in Chinese Teaching"The New Conception of Dialogic Chinese Teaching."In addition to him, the most outstanding are Dialogues in Chinese by Qian Liqun and Sun Shaozhen, The Dialogic Teaching in Chinese by Sun Jianjun and Principles of Discourse Communication and Chinese Teaching by Zhang Liangtian etc. This thesis is not only to perfect the teaching process of college English but also to improve the students'reading and comprehensive application abilities. The dialogic reading teaching attaches the importance to the equal and multiple dialogic relationships among the teachers, students as well as the texts and it regards reading as a dynamic activity in which the teachers solicit and the students read; at the same time, they participate and cooperate together, respect and understand each other, and then there will be a democratic, harmonious and warm teaching atmosphere around them to improve the efficiency of reading teaching process and promote the reforms and development of reading teaching in college English. The practice has proved that the mode of dialogic reading teaching conforms to College English Curriculum Requirements. It can improve the college students'reading abilities as well as their listening and speaking abilities so that they are able to communicate smoothly and effectively in English during their studying, working and social activities in the future. In addition, it has greatly enhanced the students'self-study abilities, their general cultural achievements and cross-cultural communication abilities to adapt to the requirements in the society developments in China and international communications. Meanwhile, the proposition of the mode of dialogic reading teaching in college English is of great significance for us to improve the present situation of reading teaching of college English and to promote the reforms of college English curriculum.
