| Li Duan is one of the well-known poetry school of middle Tang which is called the "Ten gifted youth of Dali period".Although the overall achievements of poetry of Dali period which is represented by the "Ten gifted youth of Dali period" is not high, as the transition of Kaiyuan and Yuanhe which are the grand time of Tang poetry, there are a lot of academic factors which we should study.As Qiaoyi once said, "Different poetic imageries in ancient times can be compared with different mountains and rivers.Du Fu's poems are like River Yue,Li Bai's are like Ten Sea Islands,Meng Haoran's are like Kuang Lu,Wang Wei's Mountain Huiji,Gao's Shu Le,Cen's Qi Lian,and the poems written by "Ten gifted youth of Dali period" are like different peaks of Mountain Wu." The prosperity of Tang Poetry can not just be represented by only a few schools such as Li,Du,Wang,Meng and Yuan,Bai,Han, Liu.This thesis is concerned with Li Duan's life and poetry,aiming to conduct a more comprehensive and in-depth study.The thesis consists of two main parts.The fist part is concerned with the research of Li Duan's life.The author tries to make a comprehensive and in-depth study based on existing historical data,related works by poets of the same period and the research results of today's scholars.Based on his two important life periods,as an official in Changan and dying in Hangzhou,the author makes a research about his family, juvenile tour,official seclusion and dying of diseases one by one.The author also puts forward his own view and perspective on dispute of the current academic issues such as Duan's Birth and Death,and other issues that has not been involved such as Li Duan's travel in Jianghuai and his seclusion in Mountain Heng.The second part is about the study of Li Duan's poetry.The author analyzes its subjects and artistic characteristics from the perspective of its text types,combined with his family background,fate,modern features,and aesthetic attitude and so on.Some of the subject matters in his poems are similar to those of other poets in Dali Period,such as a sense of injury at the world.What's more,there are also some that can reflect his unique perspective and aesthetic attitude.So we can not only see the overall look of the poetry in Dali Period,but also Li Duan's unique attitude.The artistic characteristics in his poetry are studied and analyzed from the perspective of two poetic verses.Through the analysis of the two verses,we can see the special artistic style of poetry in Da Li,a special transitional period,that is,there is no lack of Thriving Tang's influence,and also it has its own pursuit. |
