Andrzej Leeds Two Modern Accordion Works Studied

Frank Angelis is the famous French accordion composer and performer. He creates a series of pleasant and colorful productions for bayan accordion. As a talented accordion composer, his productions contain both the vogue and classic style. The modes of expression is rich and the technique is clever. All his productions are full of charm of French accordion and show his lofty inventing talent and extraordinary music realm. His famous production includes: Suites of Concert , Impasse,Romance,Boite a Rythme. His productions are often appointed as the melodies of world-class contests and have great influence. So his productions are valuable for research.This article selects two typical and different productions of Angelis, One is Boite a Rythme, another is Romance. Both of them are favored in international contests and concerts, but the deep research of music ontology, creative practices, music styles and playing techniques on them now is very lack. Therefore, this topic is meaningful. The paper starts with analyzing the music itself, researches deeply their means of creating and gives the related cues to the performing. This topic is hoped to help showing the meaning of productions of Angelis, deepening the understanding of his creating characteristic and the art characteristic of French accordion along with attracting more people to discuss and study the productions of Angelis.The first chapter looks back on the history of modern western music and modern accordion music, then arguments the value and meaning of research on modern accordion. The second chapter introduces briefly the French culture, the development of French accordion music and composers as the background of analysis and research of productions in the following text. The third chapter is one of the stress in the article. It studies thoroughly the two productions by different means according to their characteristics, summarizes separately the creating characteristics of the two productions for helping people to grasp a deeper level of the modern trend of accordion,and lies a solid foundation for the next chapter. The fourth chapter is another stress. Combined with the author's performing experience, it analyses deeply the two productions from applying and designing of bellows, applying and requirements of finger techniques, applying of slow downer, special playing cues and unique three lines music writing means, hoping to give profitable inspiration to others. The conclusion clarifies the art charm and music value of these two productions.
