On The Narrative In The Context Of Image Culture Changes

Nowadays, there is a great change happened to the field of culture. The traditional culture which leaded by the language and words has slid down from the center to the edge,however, the vigorous and booming"culture of image"took the place of the former one. The transformation which from language to image rebuilt the cultural system of the human society,and the hegemonic power consists of the images is now changing the cultural survival mode during our whole period. Literature, as the most basic constitution among the traditional cultural elements, naturally has been influenced seriously. As the main current cultural paradigm, the powerful function of radiation and adsorption which provided by the characteristic of cultural logics which in the internal culture of image not only brought a deep effect on writers'thinking of writing and creative psychology, but also changed the aesthetic receptive psychology of the readers greatly. For the purpose of catering to the new context of culture, there are also a good many changes happened to the literature,reflected in the changes of the narrative literary.This paper examines these new changes of the narrative novel which is the most representative among the narrative literary, which happens in the context of image culture, as the narrative novel can reflect the changes of other forms of narrative literature in some aspects.Apart from the introduction and the conclusion, the full text is divided into four parts. The introduction part starts from the context of image culture, gives an academic overview of the relevant studies which made at home and abroad, thereupon reveals the meaning of the selected subject.The part one mainly elucidates the reason why the culture of image has association with narrative novel. Firstly, describing the context of the image culture and defining the conception of the "image culture", and then analyzing the reason why image cultural have an effect on the narrative novels.The part two discusses the influence to the narrative content of the novels which made by the image culture. As the result of consumption society, the strong feeling of consumption which brought by the image culture enhance the sense of the consumer culture greatly. In order to meet people's new aesthetic taste, the narrative novels also go after the consumption, manifest in the changes from space of narration into the space of kinds of consumption, and the narrative theme turns to various consummate fashion too.The part there discusses the influence to the narrative methods of the novels which made by the image culture. A new narrative method of the novel that is called narration by image culture came out because the strong participatory of the image culture and the effective researches on the narrative novels made by many writers;as the representative of the image and the top ones in this epoch, the film and television have a powerful effect on the narrative novels, the vigorous industries of film and television also brought the narration by image culture of the novels.The part four discusses the influence on conception of narrative novels by the image culture. The culture of image has the logic characteristics of extensity, profundity and virtualization. As the main current cultural paradigm, these logic characteristics made some of the narrative novels tend towards extensity, profundity and virtualization too.The conclusion sums up the paper, on the one hand, it confirms the changes of the narrative novels in the context of the image culture; meanwhile, points to that the novel writing should stick to the "the spirit of literature", and play it's own leading position in the human spirit homestead.
