Liu Kun Study

Liu Kun was one of the most important representative writers of Jin Dynasty.He came from an aristocratic family.When he was young,he attached himself to the powerful official Jia Mi and became one of the "twenty-four friends".Later he was drawn into the "turbulent period of eight princes".He spared no efforts in his whole life to preserve the reign of Jin.His life and writing were both closely related to the political situation and the fate of the country.In the foreword,the dissertation summarizes the former studies.Chapter I gives an introduction of Liu Kun's family and his whole life.Liu Kun once communicated with Lu Chen on poems.Chapterâ…¡mainly analyses these important poems.The writer has attempted to collect and sort out all the available material.So in this Part,the disputes about these poems are satisfactorily settled.The dissertation also analyses some other Liu Kun's works and generalizes the style of his writing.According to the concerned previous research and analyzing Liu's works,this dissertation points out some of the mistakes that some other researchers have made and expresses its own opinions.The last chapter packs up different people's opinions of various dynasties on Liu Kun.From these opinions,it can be seen that the historical value of Liu Kun and his works were fully affirmed.
