Jing Xing Ci, Calligraphy Study

Abstract:Xing Cijing was Xing Tong's young sister,a famous talented woman in latter Ming dynasty,who was good at writing poem,aritcle,calligraphy and painting. At present the introductions on her life story are few. And the researchs on her calligraphy donot form a system. In this article, main utilizing the history, the sociology, and the art study, analyzing literature material and the art work, her calligraphy art characteristic and the influence and so on related question are discussing in order to clear off her calligraphy development vein and discover her artistic origin, thus promulgate her in the calligraphy history existence.This article is divided into three parts.First, Xing Cijing biography and cultural attainments. Based on her family background, her literary arts, and the time division, the foundational analysis on Xing Cijing is made.Second, study to Wang Xizhi,Zhao Mengfu and her old brother: how Xing Cijing's style was formed is studied.Finally, Inheriting the tradition, elegant and dignified beautiful: Xing Cijing's calligraphy esthetic characteristic are analyzed mainly from taking the predecessor as an example, changing gradually from the imitation.
