17 Cartoons Role Of Image Creation (1949-1966) Of The Founding Of The People's Republic Of China

It was not only an important turning point during the first 17 years after the founding of People's Republic of China for the history of the development of Chinese art films,but also an important stage in which fruitful results was achieved in the creation of the roles of Chinese animation films.In this thesis,starting from the evolution of the animation films in early PRC,with the roles in it as the main subject of the study,a variety of visual elements and their rich cultural implications are clarified through an analysis of the representative animation roles.Furthermore,the role creation in the results achieved in the seventeen years under the art policy at that time is demonstrated.The thesis consists of four parts:In the introduction,in addition to a brief review of the development of animation films during the period of the Republic of China,the development of animation films and a macroscopic description of animations in the seventeen year are also demonstrated.In Chapter 1,the evolution of the different types of animations and their roles creation in the seventeen years is straighten out,then valuable exploration in the open-up of nationalized approach of animation films and the creation of "Chinese School" in the relatively closed environment of culture are analyzed and discussed. Finally,the characteristics of different types of animation film roles are summarized.In Chapter 2,it is pointed out that the foreign and native arts are the main factors influencing the image of art roles through the analysis of the elements which had made effects on the character development of animation film in the 17 years. Foreign factors in arts such as Walt Disney Animation from the USA and role images from the Soviet Union and other Eastern Europe countries had an indirect influence on the,which tends to contrast with the direct influence exerted by such native arts as Traditional Chinese Opera,traditional Chinese paintings,folk arts,children's drawing and cartoons.In conclusion,the thesis summarizes the achievements made in the creation of roles in animation films during the 17 years and points out the limitation of that times so as to give an overall evaluation of animation film roles in that time span.It explains the political,economic and cultural demands;especially the public aesthetic demands and analyzes the artistic features and expressive means of the creation of roles in animation films during the 17 years and the deep and profound influence on the modern Chinese animation art.Besides illustrated by literature and figures,this thesis has also taken field work to get firsthand information.This study aims to expand the range of modern and contemporary arts research in China and enrich the content of it so as to draw related scholars' attention to animations and puppet films' research and then benefits further the modern and contemporary arts research in China.
