On the occasion of the 70 th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 70 th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia,the Russian side returned a large number of precious video materials to China as a gift to commemorate the profound friendship between the two countries.In this collection of previously unseen and dusty visual materials,there are color images of this important historical moment of the founding ceremony,which are hot,strong and very real memories.In combination with the black-and-white documentary shot by the Chinese film department at that time,I was surprised to find that the two camera teams shot each other in their own shots,just like a large-scale historical theater,which is constantly staged and will eventually meet at the historical junction.These two intertwined image narrative lines not only involve the first visual construction of the national image after the founding of the People’s Republic,but also outline the human landscape full of vitality and potential at that time.This thesis takes the Grand Ceremony of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China(October 1,1949)as the time entry point of image historical data research,and takes the two photographic teams involved in the shooting of the Grand Ceremony of the Founding of the people and their works in this period as the main research objects,focusing on the working state of the group of people holding cameras and the situation of image generation.At the same time,it also recalls the details of the preparation for the national ceremony and the process of the intersection of images between the Soviet Union and China.This thesis is a study of images,but also based on the historical background of the study of thousands of faces.Through the study of historical images in a specific period of time,we can understand the social living state of people in that period as the subject,which is related to culture,life and concepts.To shift the focus on an important historical moment from the perspective of grand narrative to the life history behind the formation of these images is not the "people" in the specific meaning category of grand narrative,but the people who really exist in history and leave "traces" in history.Memories may be blurred by the passage of time,but the moments captured in an image can lead us to re-experience the present moment in history. |
