Gong Zizhen Aesthetic Thought

Some scholars emerge in an era of Gong Zizhen life,they are in relatively lowly status and only as minor official to copy and study a number of materials over their lives. But in their finishing,they consciously analyze the true and false,explore history,and receive a re-interpretation of the extensive knowledge of literature.And it is an era of declining society;an era of reformation carried out,and contains a lot of reform-minded persons.However,it is very difficult that they translate their own knowledge and history from their finishing into the general implementation of the program to have effects on reforming their society.Its main reason that their new understanding of human nature can not be accepted is lacking of coordination between their lowly status and the demand of reform.Gong Zizhen sees this area,explains the relationship between human nature,saints and Confucianism to make his means clear and represents the complexity of their survive situation and their mentalities at that time.In this paper,I will explore the aesthetic significance of their thoughts in detail.The first is the introduction.In this part I will introduce the Gong's life situation briefly,summarize the current academic research and put forward the perspective of this paper study and significance of the problem.In chapter one,I focused on the philosophical foundation of Gong's aesthetic thought.It contains two issues,first is the impact of Dai Zhen "Mengzi ziyishuzheng" on Gong's theory of human nature.The second issue is the doctrine of human nature that Gong discusses specifically.The second chapter focuses on two points of ontology-based dual-exist:the existence of saints and the existence of Confucianism learner.In sectionâ… ,he describes the lives of saints,the awareness of the existential situation and returns to the natural life of human beings.In sectionâ…¡,the existence of Confucianism learner contains the spirit of independence and legislative awareness.Chapterâ…¢focused on two points on the emotional existence based on reality:the self-release and the drawing of imagination in literal and artistic creation.Gong described the heart shaped by the self-drawing and thinking in the declining society in section.In sectionâ…¡,describes the nature of life touched in the childish mind and the feeling that self experiences in it.Chapterâ…£discusses the existence of the combination of historian and Saint:the pursuit of a plain life and a strong life in hidden conditions up and down.It contains two issues.The first issue is passing the Dao to the future time in down conditions and the second issue is to obey the laws and Mimic the spirits in order to express the Dao by metaphor Image.Conclusion:To sum up the value of Gong's aesthetic ideas and the shortcomings and contradictions in his thinking system.
