Sifu poems in the Han Dynasty represent the highest achievement of the romance theme poems in the same dynasty. They are so excellent that the sifu poems in other dynasties can not to be compared with them. In consideration of all the sifu poems, chapter I makes the definition of these poems more normative, then collates and classifies the text of the sifu poems in the Han Dynasty in order to study their time, authors, and poetry, content and aesthetic qualities. Chapter II connect the poems with the historical and cultural background of the Han Dynasty. This chapter concludes the institution of official travel, corvee and military; and the attitudes towards amour, marriage and chastity of females and male literators in Han Dynasty. The purpose of this part is the reason of sifu poems' aesthetics. Chapter III studies the change of the sifu poems after the Han Dynasty. The main point in this chapter is the "hypocrisy" of sifu poems in Wei and Jin Dynasty. Besides, the process from "sifu" poem to "guiyuan" poem is also an important problem. This thesis connects the theory and Perceptual reading. Maybe it will avail the studies which are about poem and aesthetics.
