Gardens appear in human early, in "The Book of Songs", "Book of Mountains and Seas" and other books in pre-Qin dynasty can be found. Classical gardens can be divided into roughly three categories: royal gardens, private gardens, fane garden. Since the introduction of Buddhism to China, the fane gardens have been great development. During the Tang Dynasty, Buddhism has flourished, and the fanes enjoy a special economic rights, which the Tang Dynasty, to promote political and cultural relations have great impact. In such conditions, the fanes have also flourished.This discourse will introduce configuration of the fane gardens and the garden life of monks. First of all, introduce configuration of the fane gardens,including the landscape, plants, animals and architecture, to display the characteristics of monks' living environment. At the same time, contrast with the royal gardens, private gardens, highlights the unique charm of the fane gardens. Secondly, try to find the monks'aesthetic ideas about gardens from exploring the aesthetic characteristics of the fane gardens in the Tang Dynasty ; at the same time, find communication between the Zen and the gardens.
