| "Aesthet/hics" is a post-modern aesthetic concept. It is an attempt that aesthetics expanding and aesthetic determination taking place of ethic determination. As a resistance to the partition of aesthetics and ethics in modern subject system, its aim is to cancel ethical restriction, and realize object's freedom absolutly. In the post-modern status, as a general guiding principle, art domains several living fields including ethics. "Aesthet/hics" "is considerd as the part of that 'themselves' including ethical factors in aesthetics." As a post-modern concept, it presents several similar actors a with ancient Chinese music theory. But they have the essential differences, that is "Aesthet/hics" taking the art as the ethical general princeple, but pre-qin Confucianism's musical theory taking ethics as the aesthetics' princeple.If we want to research on pre-qin period, especially Confucian's musical theory, we ought to study it from the historical background of that time. In the spring and autumn and warring states, king's decedency and the princes' struggle for hegemony, led to great changes in the social classes. As the cultural ideology and political structure, ZHOU "Li" had lost its legality and authority, encountering a formal crisis. People is gloried by possesing "Li", but they have already lost the intrinsic essence of "Li". Scholars, as the lowest noble class in ZHOU period ago, had become the culutural and thinking object by degree. By the sensitivity of knowledge perserons, they took the social order reconstruction as the main mission. Confucius is a model in transfoming the tradtional culture creatively, his greatest contribution is transferred people' view from "Tian dao" to "humanity" itself, considerring the social reconstruction as ethical order reconstruction, and as a result, established the foundation for the latter Chinese's ethical standard social reconstruction. Anewly he found another valuable origin for "Li"—"benevolence". It is an ethical sentiment rooting from the realative blood love, and is a definition on people' essence. Confucians' ethical consciousness has emotional and practical characteristics, needing the individuals to complete his ethical definition in the ethical relationship among persons, fufilling his essence as a man, and fouthermore, realizing the art-oriented life. Using the thinking mode of unique-ethicalilty, they took the social ethical construction as the highest target, endowed art with ethical meaning, got ethics as a general princeple of aesthics, and regarded the social ethical affection as the evaluation standard of the art. In order to serve the social ethical reconstuction, the scholars of Confucian advocated art concept of "ya music", regarded ethics as aes thical essence. They evaluated confucian art's ethical aesthetic thinking detailedly from the aespects of the origin, the essential regulation, the aesthetical ideal, the function and effectiveness of music.In that time, music itself had already realized its development independently, and not served for the ethical and political order yet. It walked from the ancestral temple and sacrifice to the daily life of the mass, manifesting the natural emotion of the ordinary people. But at the same time, the foik music prensented an aesthetic orientation of the entertainment and passion, expanded human's desire. As a result, cinfucians promoted a "ya music" art, opposed senseory interest, made great efforts to sublimate it, and transcend sensory aesthetics, in order to serve the reconstruction of social ethical order. |
