It is the crucial point that the debate between "Han Xue" and "Song xue" which is the main academic systems inside the Confucianism of Qing Dynasty. The issue of this essay is Fang Dongshu who is the student of Yao Nai the master of Tongcheng Pai and he is famous for the definite position in dealing with "Han" and "Song" . Fang is looked upon as the represent of 19th century's debate between "Han" and "Song" .The researchers on Qing's academic have concluded Fang and his composing "Han Xue Shang Dui" into the field about the debate between"Han" and "Song" since 20th century and discussed broadly and deeply. But these researches don't emphasis on Fang's position of defending"Cheng Zhu Li Xue" hardly while they focus on Fang's criticizing on"Han Xue" . The former is the theme of my essay.This essay explores the origin of Fand Dongshu's "Li Xue" thoughts forming from three fields including Tong Cheng provincial social culture, the theme and spreading of Qing's Tong Cheng Pai and the family academic tradition. Then the article observes Fang's lifetime and analysis the interacting relation between his knowledge about social environment and his intention of thoughts. After these, the article discusses the meaning of Fang's "Li Xue" identification on the thoughts history in the environment of "Jia Dao" academic ethos. Meanwhile the composition definite the content of Fang's "Li Xue" identification through distinguishing Fang's different consideration and attitude about "Wang Xue" and "Zhu Xue" inside "Li Xue" . Especially the essay manages to identify the divarication between the academic field and intention of Fang with that of Qing's official "Li Xue" based on the perspective of Fang as one folk scholar. The discussion of the essay is hoped that it is beneficial for understanding Fang Dongshu who represents "Song Xue" during the focused debate of "Han" and "Song" .
