Cao Yu is modern theatre artists in China. In his previous four representative dramas "Thunderstorm", "sun-rise", "Wilderness", "People of Beijing", created a series of rich spiritual world, and unique characters. Through the unique characters fortune and life forms, deep into the characters'the spiritual world, author explored the spiritual pursuit and confusion, the value of life and meaning.This paper aims to use Theory of tragedy, the spirit of Freud's psychological analysis theory, and ethics theory, the theory of religious and cultural to do a systemic inspection to the essence of the spirit of theatrical figures, as well as the changes and development process of character and mentality and the inherent basics, in order to analyses the overall characteristics of Cao Yu's early dramas'figures. In this paper, the main innovation is the use of new perspective to explore the uniqueness of the spiritual world and its profound connotation of Cao Yu's drama characters.Papers were divided into introduction, body, conclusion of three parts.Introduction part is explaining the topic, and discusses the issue of the status quo at home and abroad, and the topic of innovation. Part of the body is divided into three chapters, layers of depth to explore the spiritual world of theatre figures.The first chapter, which lives on the superficial characteristics of the tragedy and the tragedy of quality, to reveal figures in the original (including sexuality, lust, greed and lust for power, all kinds of desires) under the control of the life tragedy.Chapter II, from the perspective of his senses and sensibilities, explores the deeper causes of sinking and awaken of characters'soul, mines the inner basis and roots in the life tragedies.Chapter III, from the religious sentiments of the author starting, contains in the works of religious overtones, the tragedy of the souls of people achieve salvation and spiritual transcendence way.Conclusion concludes remarks, and explains Cao Yu's early dramas on the overall aesthetic features and Cao Yu's dramas in the early characterization of artistic characteristics and limitations and significance in the history of Chinese literature.In the course of discussing the spiritual world of dramas in the paper, I will as much as possible more perspectives and sides do a dynamic grasp to the nature of the tragic figures and the cause of coming into being tragedies and to the process of achieving salvation and beyond. Avoid a single, so figure as a three-dimensional image show people in the face, and in-depth grasp of the rich spiritual world figures and complexity of the drama, at the same time Cao Yu's early figures explore further deep aesthetic implication of spiritual world.
