On Jia Xuan CI Hero Complex

Among all the ci-poets,Xin Qiji is the most prolific and achieves the highest artistic achievements in his ci-poems.Thus his collection of ci-poems Jiaxuan Ci has always been the focus of attention.Based on the complex theory of the psycho-analysis school,this thesis presents a detailed analysis of the cause of Xin Qiji's hero complex and its performance in Jiaxuan Ci.Additionally,the relationship between Xin Qiji's psychology and his ci-poems,and the influences of the hero complex on him are explored. The thesis consists of four parts.The first part is an introduction of the whole thesis.At first,an overview of the criticism on Xin Qiji's ci-poems since the Southern Song Dynasty is given.Through the analysis of some historic famous remarks,the process of people's recognizing and accepting the heroic emotion Jiaxuan Ci is revealed;and the reason for the similar style of Xin Qiji's Ci-poems and Wanyue Ci is also shown.Then,a literature review of the study on Xin Qiji's ci-poems in the academic circle since 1949 is surveyed.The research status of Xin Qiji's hero complex shows that there is no comprehensive analysis of the cause of Xin Qiji's hero complex and its influences on his whole life.In Chapter one,a comparison of heroes with high reputation and heroes with ambition unrealized in Jiaxuan Ci is given to show Xin Qiji's great compassion for the heroes.The reputation awareness and "mending-the-sky" awareness in Jiaxuan Ci reflects Xin Qiji's political subject consciousness.Recovering the conquered land is his dream in his whole life.In Jiaxuan Ci,both the critical responses to the Literati trend in the Southern Song Dynasty and the writing about his own distressed emotion testify to Xin Qiji's strong fighting spirit.All the heroes share these characteristics,which are also the main points of the hero complex.Chapter two introduces Psycho-analysis theories,and Jung's complex theory, in particular.Complex is the result of human collective sub-consciousness,the personal unconsciousness and personal experiences.Its autonomy makes it become the underlying factor of schizophrenia.Meanwhile,as the source of human inspiration,it excites human creative impulse.In Zhao Song Dynasty,positively entering political stratum and taking the national affairs as one's duty were the embodiment of the collective sub-consciousness of all the intellectuals.Xin Qiji's great spiritual agony,which was aroused by his experiences in the occupied district, and some aspects of his personality are the cause of his hero complex.The hero complex,having great impact on him in his periods of life,either positively or negatively,is the main cause of his literary creation.As the product of the combination of human consciousness and unconsciousness,complex influences one's personality and aesthetic taste.Xin Qiji's personality as a hero has necessarily great impact on his aesthetic taste.In the third chapter,the application of military images and the dynamic description of things in Jiaxuan Ci reveal Xin Qiji's appreciation of power and energy;the magnificent background,the adoption of allusion and comparison,and contradictory ideas also show his pursuit of depression.The thesis adopts the psycho-analysis theory as the theoretical basis.Through the writing techniques of statistical data,contrast and comparison,the thesis mainly discusses the application of Xin Qiji's hero complex in the content and style of his ci-poems.Besides,its cause and effects are also presented.
