Taking the drama series brand of"PTS Literary Drama Series"created by the PTS (Public Television Service, Taiwan.) as its main research object, this thesis systematically discusses the status of"PTS Literary Drama Series"and its influence on Taiwan television circle; contrasts the difference between drama series adapted and recomposed from literary works by PTS from drama series shot by the general commercial television; discusses how"PTS Literary Drama Series"brings a new development opportunity for the public television of Taiwan (PTS), and how this type could find a way of existence in Taiwan's social environment.This thesis then try to dig out what is"public"and how the spirit of public applies in the television media; discusses how"PTS Literary Drama Series"creation integrates itself into public television station's operation philosophy; And in a further step it discusses how the business model of global Non-profit public television organization survive in the tendency of media commercialization, try to take this as an example to find a way of how we could evaluate a most suitable mode for Chinese people's public television.By analyzing the significance of the brand of"PTS Literary Drama Series", this thesis wants to explore what is a good resolution for an optimistic integration of public television's operation with its commercially profitable appeal, through a research of"PST Literary Drama Series"and similar plays heat on PTS, attempts to find out its essential implication of cultural aesthetics and creative business opportunities.
