Shiji is the first jizhuanti general history of China.It holds the balance of traditional civilization of China.After the invention of Block-printed edition,Shiji has many variant expressions which are necessary to be researched.The most popular edition of Shiji was published by Zhonghua Press in 1959.However,this edition.has many problems.Taipingyulan is one of the great reference books in Song dynysty.It is regarded as the resource of collation by scholars,because it cites a great deal of documents before Tang dynysty.such as Shiji.,and some variant expressions in it are very useful.This paper has selected the variant expressions of Shiji in.Taipingyulan,though the way of collationing and explaining,based on the previous researchers such as Wang Niansun,Liang Yusheng,etc.It can correct the errors in the block-printed edition of Shiji,can mend the imperfect of the block-printed edition of Shiji,and also can delete the redundant character in block-printed edition of Shiji.The hope is that this paper would arouse readers to focus on related research and can also help others with the collation of Shiji.
