Psychologist researchers abroad are paying more and more attention to repressors,which a re a group with a number of characteristics.This paper attempts to explore repressor's me -mory about emotional affairs,at the same time we hope that the research results can sup port the theory about the relation between suppression and memory.In this paper,methods from previous studies was used for reference,at the same time we use the diary method,which overcome some disadvantages of the previous studies abo ut low validity of zoology and having no way to affirm the affair which is recalled,to explore the emotional characteristics of the recall of repressors.The results show that repressors' age of the earlist memory about negative affair are older than non-repressors,,which means that the negative affair happened earlier can't be recalled.Repressors are more likely to retrieve memories of early experiences of happiness and when they recall the early negative experiences,it take them longer time to retrieve the affair than to retrieve positive experiences.In the study of the diary we found that for all the subjects,it is easiest for them to remember those living affair in the positive sentiment,and the memories about negative emotion is are worse than positive affairs,but better than neutral affairs.Compared to non-repressors,repressors' negative emotional memories of the affairs are worse.Generally speaking,our studies have confirmed the former viewpoint that repressors are of the loss of negative emotional memories.The reason may be that repressors tend to avoid things that make them feel uncomfortable.The results contribute to the further understanding about the memory of repressors and can support the theory about the relation between suppression and memory.
