Wen Qi "on The Interpretation And Value Of Interpretation

"Wenqi" is a very important category in the Chinese ancient literature theory. In the Chinese ancient literary theory' history, on the one hand its status is important, most artists and theoreticians all brought it into the visual field scope; on the other hand its connotation is abundant and unique, involving many realms such as creations corpus, literature work and literary criticism etc, and it is hard to find out a technical term which can be close to or match it in the western literary theory.Many scholars carried on beneficial and more thorough of study and research on "Wenqi" theory, or making the research on the whole description, like theoretically combing the history of its formation and development; or discussing its theory side, such as studying its course of development and living consciousness and its living spirit; or doing some explanation on "wenqi" theory of some literary theory author. But it is insufficient and not enough to research its connotation definition and the concern of the total characteristics valuable aspects.This thesis plans to make the limits to its connotation on the foundation of the predecessors' studies, and discuss its whole characteristics and valuable aspects. Former research excessively thought greatly of some aspect of its connotation, such as the talent of author, vehemence and style of the work and so on. So it was not overall and unilateral. This thesis thinks that it can help to oppositely understand the connotation of "Wenqi" to grasp two aspects, like author and work, and thinks from the internal direction of theory function. It is necessary to study its whole characteristics to form a clear understanding of "Wenqi". "Wenqi" has many characteristics, such as the property of the whole penetration, living characteristics, getting through "to raise", cultural factor of "harmony" and so on. These characteristics are related to ancient philosophy about "Qi" theory and its endless development history. Unfolding from these aspects such as personality construction, literary production, literary criticism the modern value's explanations can get many conclusions to help contemporary literary theory' construction.This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part chiefly analyses the theoretical origination, discussing how "wenqi" be condensed, from "Qi" with the learning of word source to "Qi" with philosophical meaning, and be cited into creations corpus and literature and arts. The second part mostly finds out the history of "Wenqi" development. The third part analyses five views about "Wenqi" connotation and inquires into its internal direction of its theory. The fourth part concludes and analyses the characteristics of "Wenqi". The fifth part explains modern values with an emphasis from three aspects, such as writer personality, literary creation, literary criticism.
