A Study On The Words Of Direction In Modern Chinese

Words of Dircetion in Modern Chinese has received widespread attention due its own unique expression of space.There still exists differences in the range of the Words of Dircetion,different scholars have different views,it has hinder the study of the Words of Dircetion.First,this paper sum up Words of Dircetion list in different publications,then make certain the research scope.Second,make explicit the relevant concepts,classify and discuss the object of study by the different types of space.The process of the discussion should base on the character of space,analyse the semantic and the function of grammer combine with corpus,then make judge if it can enter the scope of Words of Dircetion by using the semantic link of direction.At last,depends on the type of space,we explicit the range of the Words of Direction,there are 83 words of direction in modern Chinese,including 16 monosyllabic words and 67 disyllabic words.We assort the word of direction in six types:sheer direction?basic direction?“nei-wai”?“jian”?“bian-pang”?“ding-di”,then put forwad the identification of the word of Direction in both semantic and space points of view.
