Western Metaphor In Aesthetics Connotation

With the deep research of category of west metaphor theories, metaphor has been enlarging itself meaning and becoming a hot discussion about the intersection of several subjects from the original simple rhetoric category. And there is a certain improvement even it is argued from the aspect of aesthetic, but a systemic thinking about metaphor is much desired. My paper will discuss the three topics viewing from the aesthetic meaning and the essential of metaphor: the first one is its artistic aesthetic meaning when it is researched as rhetoric; the second one is its practice and several specific forms when it was used in the area of theology during the period from Middle ages to Revival of learning; the last one is a review of the west metaphor theories in the late 16th century, metaphor is a kind of power of words and an attitude of quest the truth if it is viewed as a method of cognition. The goal of my paper is a preparatory research about the aesthetic meaning about the category of west metaphor theories, and the condition is that metaphor theories is a development of diachronic.
