Electronic products are essential for daily life and in the working. It is a typical representative of the artifacts areas. Electronic products name is an important component of the vocabulary. It is necessary to study the naming of products.In this paper, the object of study is the name of electronic products. First we classified the product areas. Electronic product names can be divided into the basic areas names, upper areas names and lower areas names. This study focused on the basic areas names and lower areas names. In this paper, the number of statistical areas in the basic names is more than 500. Then we analyzed the structure and coinage methods of these names. On this basis, we can classify the naming elements and analysis the using of naming elements in each level so as to understand the choice situation of the naming elements in basic areas and the priorities of Naming elements in Name expansion. We try to give some interpretation from a cognitive perspective.The article summed up the law of products naming: the Classification of electronic products is based on the function and the most important naming element is function. The inherent characteristics of products are prior to the external characteristics. Finally, in this article we have a comparative study of naming in electronic products and animals and plants belonging to the natural world, in Consumer electronic products and Non-consumer electronic products, in Chinese electronic products and foreign electronic products. So we can know some unique laws of the electronic products naming as man-made products and the universal laws as any things.
