Morandi Work Style To Explore

Giorgio Morandi is an Italian painter and printmaker of 20th century, his works present unique artistic charm. During Morandi's lifetime, he produced works of art include paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings. These works are all different, but from them, we can find out Morandi's unique artistic characteristics.At his age of 17, Morandi attended Bologna Academy of Fineart. He was influenced by Cézanne and Cubism in earlier time, his works affected by them, especially by Cézanne. From 1918～1919, Morandi got in touch with the Scuola Metafisica. But he was not a representative figure in the Scuola Metafisica. At that time, Morandi's works are different from other artists of the Scuola Metafisica. Owing to these influences, Morandi fromed his own manner gradually. We can learn many things from Morandi's manner and his marrow of his art and so on.Morandi's manner is a point of this thesis. His conception of his art affected his manner. In this thesis, there are two aspects to analyze Morandi's manner. One aspect is exterior influence that include two factors: lengthways factor about inherit the tradition of the Renaissance's marrow and transverse factor about social enviroment, atmosphere of art and so on. The other one aspect is inner influence about developing observe ways. At the end of this thesis, we combine Morandi's works, his conception and his idea to find out the feature of his manner.
