The name of Franz Schubert is always related with his lied and piano pieces. while his achievements in piano sonata were always shadowed by the achievements of Beethoven's piano sonata in his age. From the 20th century, the unique value of Franz Schubert's piano sonata has been realized by people and is put into the same position as Haydn Mozart & Beethoven with the publication of his piano sonata.The earliest romanticism characteristics are appeared in Franz Schubert's sonata., which laid the foundation of the romantic music performance and became the common feature of the romanticism music; some folk music components, such as folk music rhythm, were adopted in his work; as well as harmony was taken as major method to express the musical.The article is lined with Franz Schubert's five representative sonatas and organized in three chapters; introduces the characteristics of the piano sonatas, as well as the transition process from the early lyrics to medium and late histrionics. In the 1st chapter, the social environments, family backgrounds, and romanticism thoughts of the day are introduced briefly, which affected Schubert's production later in his life. And the overall characteristics and the works of different stages of Schubert's work are introduced. In the 2nd chapter, the five representative piano sonatas in his medium is analyzed and introduced. In the 3rd chapter, the production styles are summarized through the analysis of the five piano sonatas. The author is trying to analyze how did Schubert transit from early and medium lyricism to late histrionic and heroism, and summarize the historical status of Schubert's medium sonata in order to evaluate his piano works precisely on a wider view. The research on Franz Schubert's sonata is valuable for understanding more about Franz Schubert from the aspect of historical view and it is good for us to enjoy the fascination of "King of Chanson".
