Arishima Takeo was one of the representatives of silver birch group. His rich experiences in his life and profound knowledge getting from studying abroad in European countries contributed to his unique philosophy and artistic viewpoint. He got famous at one night by his novel Cain's Descendant, which established his status in literary field during Taishou period.This paper will study Arishima Takeo and his masterpiece from the aspects of christanity, Begson's life philosophy and tragic spirit respectively, uncover the purdah that prevents us from seeing ego clearly and find out the initial ego that hides behind spatial ego. While this kind of initial ego just hides deeply in his novel. His personal emotional experiences Arishima Takeo penetrates in his novel hints the spiritual connotation beyond time and space, which inspires the author to explore the inner significance about life, existential value, happiness and disasters beneath the surface meaning of the text and find out his consistency with the hero of Cain Descendant——Hirookaniuemon.The author proves that Arishima Takeo describes himself in this novel although he is different from Hirookaniuemon in terms of identity, status and personality. This novel could be recognized as one that Arishima Takeo confides himself by the hero's story.
