Shaanxi Hua Yin Shuangquan Village Chang Family Of The Old Chamber Music Study Tour

The origin of Laoqiang which is popular in Shuangquan village Shaanxi province can be dated back to KangXi and Qianlong period. It is one of the oldest opera. Laoqiang was developed by the Zhang family and deeply influenced by the special characteristic of Shuangquan village.Laoqiang is inherited through the Zhang family with strict law, that is to say, only the male member of the Zhang family can learn the opera. It is impossible for others to learn it. Thus, the main characters are all from Zhang family, especially the most impost players are all from the core member of Zhang family.The way how Laoqiang is inherited is not an exception in Shaanxi Province, even in the whole country. It is common to inherit opera through family clan in China. This reflects some characters of the family culture which is deeply rooted in the farming culture in the past years. Based on the field survey, this paper tried to explore the Laoqiang comprehensively from the cultural aspect and discuss the traditional cultural value which is influenced by the farming culture and family system.
