This paper attempts to ecological aesthetic point of view to re-inspect and examine Wang's pastoral poetry and prose. It is proved that Wang's poetry is not a compromise with secularity and a negative attitude to the society as shown in the past studies, but reveals the human ecology in the prime period of Tang Dynasty, which includes conscience, quietness, freshness, warmness, harmony and health. This article holds that Wang's pastoral poems embody the human ecology and aesthetic traditions of friendly nature, nature in harmony, mutual support and reciprocity. However, there lie distinct differences between this idea and the original thought that people obtain from the universe and try to conquer Nature. This paper points out that Chan enable Wang beyond Nature and have a positive impact on the arts realm of Wang's poetry, and it is the pursuit of "man and Nature in harmonious reunification" that poets love nature, return to the Nature, which is precisely the same lineage of "harmony of Nature and human" of the ecological wisdom of ancient China. Thus it has important ideological values on ecological conservation and restoration of harmony between human and Nature.
