There has been an apparent "adult-orientation" in the design of children's wear. Nevertheless, "adult-orientation" doesn't mean the simple down-sizing or the blind follow-suit of grown-ups' wear. While incorporating elements of adults' fashion, children's wear design shall have its own principles that relate to children's age-marked characteristics. Through analyzing factors leading to this "adult-orientation" and investigating a series of children's brand wear, this thesis puts forward some suggestions on children's wear designing in principles of pragmatism, estheticism and human-centeredness, with an aim to explore a more appropriate path to adult-orientation of children's wear. Nowadays, personal charm marked by individuality is not a concept only confined to adults' wear; it is also absorbed in children's clothing. However, apart from fashion elements that are in vogue and instructive, the latter shall take into account children's nature in elements such as the softness of cloth, colors and styles that are to children's favor and needs based on physical and psychological conditions at different ages.
