Zhengzhou Islamic Studies

This thesis based on the Marxism theory of the religious study, upholds the methodological principles of history and logic, employs different kinds of research techniques such as the field material analysis, the questionnaire survey and document interview to study Islam and Muslims in Zhengzhou. It is made up of four parts in the explicit of the display and the analysis in the dimension.The author believes on the basis of this research that: Firstly, the existence and the development of Islam in Zhengzhou, most importantly, rely on the guidance of the talented persons namely Akhond or Imam, the cleric of Islam, to develop the mosque economy, to educate the Muslim population; In this regard Imam can play the core role. Secondly, the development of Islam and the strengthening of the religious faith actually are the advantageous to the economic development and the social harmony in the entire region of Zhengzhou. Therefore, regarding the development of Islam in Zhengzhou, the local government and society should render their support and guidance.The present paper proposes with the elaboration viewpoints that regarding Islam of the Hui Muslims who practice in Zhengzhou they should correctly understand their own advantage and disadvantage, on the other hand non-Muslims should get rid of certain misunderstanding to Islam in Zhengzhou and fairly understand the Hui Muslims in that region. All of these have the certain significance in regarding of the policy and the work carried out by the local government concerned the nationality and religion.
