According to investigations of WHO, suicide is one of the top three chief reasons for the deaths of juveniles. And in China it is the first reason for the deaths of the young people aged from 15 to 34, which is especially evident in college students. At present, the trend of suicide among students is increasing. The suicides of college students are closely related with their psychological health. College students'suicides have become a prominent and sensitive issue for the work of mental health care in colleges, and it has brought bad effect and continuous impact to society, families and individuals. Therefore, this research has studied on factors of college students'trend of suicides, which contributes theoretical value and significant practical meaning to build up a college students'suicides preventative system. On one hand, this research redefines the trend of suicide and enriches the theory of students'psychological health education which altogether contribute to the psychological health of college students and preventative work against the suicides of college students. On the other hand, this research has specific meaning in improving the college students'psychological health.Proceeding from psychology, this research builds up a precautionary system in a comprehensive way by investigation and research on related factors, which will fundamentally reduce the probability of college student suicide. According to related researches, suicides are considered as a result of the interrelated effects of individual psychology, family and social factors. Based on the above purpose and hypothesis, this research analyzes all the factors related to suicides of college students with open questionnaires, talks and a comprehensive study of the former researches in this field. Then a theoretical hypothesis is put forward and a comprehensive questionnaire on the suicidal trends of college students is made. With a trial test of samples and an analysis of the result, the items in the questionnaire are edited, and a comprehensive questionnaire on the suicidal trends of college students is finally made. Together with the EPQ-RSC, the Ego Harmony Questionnaire and the questionnaire on the test of harmonious relationship between college students and the questionnaire of the social adaptability of college students, a comprehensive questionnaire is formed, which is used for 2,466 students aged between 16 to 28 in 5 colleges and universities. With an analysis of the investigation, the following conclusions are made:1) Students with a suicidal tendency vary vastly in schools, sexes, grades, academic achievements, relationship with fellow students, and family structure.2) Students with a suicidal tendency vary vastly in schools. School difference is distinct in the inspection test on depression, anxiety and suicide. Students in key universities are more likely to commit suicide than other students.3) Students with a suicidal tendency vary vastly in sex. Sex difference is distinct in the inspection test on depression, anxiety and suicide. Male students are more prone to commit suicide than female students.4) Students with a suicidal tendency vary vastly in grade. Grade difference is distinct in the inspection test on depression, anxiety and suicide. Juniors and seniors are more likely to commit suicide than freshmen and sophomores.5) Students with a suicidal tendency vary vastly in academic achievements. Academic difference is distinct in the inspection test on depression, anxiety and suicide. Generally, suicidal inclination has a tendency to go up with the academic achievements going polarized.6) Students with a suicidal tendency vary vastly in schoolmate relationship. Schoolmate relationship is distinct in the inspection test on depression, anxiety and suicide. Generally, suicidal inclination has a tendency to go up with the tension of schoolmate relationship increasing.7) Students with a suicidal tendency vary vastly in family structures. Family structure is distinct in the inspection test on depression, anxiety and suicide. Generally, students whose parents are dead are more likely to commit suicide.8) The suicidal tendency has something to do with the personality, self-harmony, interpersonal relationship and social adaptability. Students without suicidal tendency vary from those with suicidal tendency in the following aspects: endocentric character and the exocentric character of the individual (E), emotional stability (N), psychological character (P), unharmonious self-experience, self-flexibility, self-inflexibility, self-harmony, trouble in communication, trouble in social contacts and making friends, trouble in socialization, trouble in communicating with the opposite sex, harmony in interpersonal relationship and social adaptability. Students without suicidal tendency have a higher average value in endocentric character and the exocentric character of the individual (E) and social adaptability, while they have a lower average value than students with suicidal tendency in other aspects; However these two groups have no significant difference on concealibility (L).9) A pluralistic analysis illustrates that the suicidal tendency of college students are influenced by various factors. It is the mutual effect of the sex, relationship with fellow students, family structure, personality, self-harmony, harmony in interpersonal relationship and social adaptability.
