Ren is an extremely scope in the Confucius theory. It is also a scope with a veryindistinct definition, which appears more than one hundred times in "The Analects", butevery time Confucius referred to Ren, he gave different explanations. In the followingarticle, the author tries to sort out the cases in which the Ren was used in the periodbefore Confusius and tries to analyze the discussions about Ren in "The Analects". Thenthe author draws the conclusion that we can use only one sentence to explain Ren, that is,Ren is how to be humanitarian. Ren is the crucial essence of human beings and is thereason why humans are different from animals. On one hand, it is the goal of self-cultivation. More importantly, it represents the extreme achievement of human' spersonality—perfection. On the other hand, Ren is the way humans practice moral.teachings in daily life. And it is only the way of daily behavior. To attain Ren, one has tolearn the ways of the Confucius' self-cultivation, to live according to the rules followed:First, to show filial piety to one's parents and love and respect to one's elder brothers;Second, to forgive; Third, love; fourth, to follow adequate rules; fifth, to follow and keeppromise; etc, to promote one's morality. But at the same time, one also has to learn allkinds of skills and read poems so that one can move forward and achieve the idealpersonality of Ren gradually. The rules of Ren can not only be used to practice moral culture but also to regulatehumans. Firstly, Ren is to be humanitarian, also to solve the problem of humans. Theregulating value of Ren gives us the way of humanity, and it provides us a universalmeaning of human's nature and ensures the value of humans, emphasizing theindependent personality of humans and propagating the social value of humans. Secondly,Ren gives us a concept of management, we can learn from it, an improve ourmanagement.
