Pedro Almodovar Film Dynasty

As one of the most important representative of the Spanish film, Pedro Almodovar has won great reputation in Spanish and the rest of the world for his wonderful and unique works since he made his debut in the field of film art in 1980.His films, which are permeated with the very Spain exotic flavor, is famous for their visuality and entertainment, splendid colors and quirky stories. The very modern way of expression and the concern of the common confusion of modern people not only attract spectators in Spanish but also the rest of the world. The perfect combination of the charcters of nation and world is the important reason why his films are popular in both Spanish and abroad. The individual style and fluent narrative make his film unique and popular. Obviously, Almodovar's success in both art and commerce is not accidental. The deep-going study of the successful contemporary auteur is due to be beneficial to us.My thesis gives the films of Almodovar a multi-directional study. On the basis of the study of his works and the criticism on his films in and aboard, I will discuss the views of sex and desire, narrating style and cinematography of Almodovar's films. My thesis shows a distinctive and individual style of Almodovar through a detailed and over-all analysis of his films. I hope my article will offer some sort of inspiration to the Chinese films for making a balance between the entertainment and art.
