Ming And Qing The Shexian The Xixi South Ng Calligraphy Connoisseur Study

In 16-17th century Chinese art collectors can be divided into two groups: one is in north ,who lived in Beijing mostly and another is in south ,who gathered in Suzhou mainly. Huizhou is near Suzhou, from where the merchants became powerful since the middle period of Ming dynasty, and the art collection was flourishing and influential, especially in Shexian, a lot of art collectors came into being.Xixinan is a village in the western part of Shexian , in the cultural and art point of view ,where it is very important in Ming and Qing dynasty. The art collection of its was unique wonder in art collection history. The dissertation focuses on the several connoisseurs, i.e. Wuting, Wuzhen and Wuxi, so as to study art collection in Xixinan in 16-17th century. By the study of art collection of Wu family in Xixinan in 16-17th century, it intends to outline the situation of art collection , and the cultural interaction between Huizhou and Suzhou. Meanwhile, considering other art collectors in Huizhou as a whole to study the their difference of art taste, idea of art collection ,talent of appreciating and acceptance of connoisseurship in Jiangnan, also researches the popularity of collecting works by Nizan and Huanggongwang, the origin and distribution of their art collection. This dissertation analyzes the economic function effecting on the art development, interprets the transformation which connoisseurs in Huizhou ,who were influenced by ones in Jiangnan, bought works by artists of Yuan dynasty to collecting works by artists in Huizhou. It is explained by the causes in the social, economic and cultural point of view. The dissertation calculated the features of art collection, and transformation of taste, and studied art collection, regional cultural, the origin of Anhui school of painting and art donationThis dissertation bases on documents and literature, the author collected resources of its subject as possible as he can. Apart from that, the author took a research trip to Huizhou and surveyed the region, in order to present the overview of art collection and connoisseurs in Hui zhou in the period of 16-17th century.
