Emei Mountains is the four famous mountains in the Chinese Buddhism, is place of enlightenment of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Mt. Emei's Buddhism history has more than one thousand years, and its sects of Buddhism as is mainstream the Zen Buddhism, whose mainstream is the Linji School. Because of the support for Chinese all previous dynasties feudalism king, the magistrate as well as the intellectuals, the Mt. Emei 's the Zen School became prosperous. This article is divided four parts to conduct the comprehensive analysis research on the transmission of Mt. Emei's Zen Buddhism.Part one outlines the historical background in which Mt. Emei becomes " the southwest famous mountains",as well as the reason why Mt. Emei becomes the Buddhism famous mountains afterwards. Firstly, the richly historied civilization, the delicate and quiet beauty external environment, has provided the ideal condition to the Taoism in Mt. Emei's dissemination; Next, the Buddhism spreaded to Sichuan, subsequently flowed to the Mt. Emei Buddhism thought's subsumption as well as all different religion policies of dynasties feudalism king causes the Mt. Emei Buddhism bloomed day after day prosperity and the Taoism decline.Part two explains the fact that Zen Buddhism bloomed Mt. Emei inceasingly after the Tang Dynasty Zen Buddhism spread to Mt.Emei. Firstly, the Tang Dynasty's situation enabled the Zen Buddhism throw the cultural burdens and become the mainstream of the Chinese Buddhism; Next, in the last years of the Tang Dynasty, many Chan masters reached Sichuan to seek asylum, then the Zen Buddhism bloomed in Mt. Emei. The arrival of accomplished Chan masters made Sichuan one of the centers of the Chinese Buddhism. Third, these Zen masters mainly inherit the Linji School, secondly the Caodong Shool.Part three deals mainly with the grand occasion of Mt. Emei Zen. First to introduce the background of the Song Yuan Ming and Qing Dynasty. Mt. Emei's Zen Buddhism walk in the peak period. Mt. Emei also leaped into the largest Zen temples of the southwest region; Next, the Mt. Emei zen's have to do well with the support of all previous dynasties feudalism king, the magistrate and the intellectuals.Last the part, to arrange the Mt. Emei's Zen Buddhism present situation. Making the comprehensive view of Mt. Emei zen transmission history, Linjin school was the largest sect, secondly the Caodong Shool. In the Mt. Emei Present twenty-six temples, twenty-one temples belongs to s the Linji School, five temples belongs to s the Caodong School.
