| The city god story is a kind of more extensive type that spread widely in ancient china. It originated in the Wei, Jin Dynasty. Compared with the former stories, the anecdotal novel writers of the Qing Dynasty obtained huge achievements through Long-term development. The types of the city god story were very abundant in Qing. All kinds of stories almost appeared, which broke the traditional contents, expressed its mysterious, publicized the topic of cause and effect. Besides, they were added more contents about social activities. Anti-tyranny and anti-civil ideal ran through the stories. The stories had progressive democracy thought, also obtained a substantial development in art.In this paper, the unique of the stories in Qing was dug out by comparing with the previous stories. It analyzed the social and cultural meaning, and summarized the researching value in humanities and an achievements.
