Abstract/Summary:
In the history of Chinese ancient poems, the critique poem about calligraphy is a special art form, which bridges poem and calligraphy, and is an important symbol of combination of poem and calligraphy. The critique poem about calligraphy refers to the poems which are about the calligraphists and their calligraphy, including poems praising calligraphist's high skills, poems portraying lifelike iconography in calligraphy, poems reflecting esthetic sense of calligraphy in a certain era, poems refracting compositional current of thought of calligraphy, poems revealing specific creative activity of calligraphists, poems expressing poets' thoughts of calligraphy, and so on.The critique poem about calligraphy reached its high point in the Tang dynasty, following was the Song dynasty. The Song dynasty, though its national strength was not strong, its governors thought highly of the literati and officialdom, as of result, cultural undertakings achieved extraordinary accomplishment. In the large system of poems of the Song dynasty, 253 poets wrote approach to 900 critique poems about calligraphy, the quantity of which only accounted for a little, but they were worth studying in view of their great values in historical data, culture and aesthetics. The thesis studies in the critique poem about calligraphy, attempting to analyze them from the aspects such as historical stages, thoughts and implication, artistic theoretical value, etc.The thesis consists four parts: the first part is the generalization of the critique poems about calligraphy of the Song dynasty. In this part, there is a retrace of the critique poems about calligraphy and its classification. The second part analyzes the historical cultural and social background during the development of the critique poems about calligraphy of the Song dynasty. Though the Song dynasty was a poor dynasty, it had its own characteristics, to some degree, from which the critique poems about calligraphy benefited. The third part is analysis about the different developmental stages of the critique poems about calligraphy. Both the North Song and the South Song had the critique poems about calligraphy, it reached its high point in the North Song when Su, Huang, Mi appeared. Yueke of the South Song left the largest quantity of the critique poems about calligraphy. The literati and officialdom made the critique poems about calligraphy prosperous. The fourth part expounds the value and significance of the critique poems about calligraphy which have great effect in guiding calligraphy learning and appreciating, improving the development of calligraphy. At the same time, they contribute to the history of calligraphy, the calligraphy theory and the research about the calligraphy criticism as important references. In addition, they also have literary and esthetic values. In a word, the critique poems about calligraphy opened a door for us to know about the calligraphy field in the Song dynasty.As the basic references, the critique poems about calligraphy of the Song dynasty are attached after the thesis.
