The Ancient Chinese Calligraphy Theory Study

This thesis mainly takes the occurrence of calligraphy theories as its subject investigated. It makes a cultural light to read the calligraphy theories completely in the period of beginning . From the three main aspects of practice foundation, cultural mechanism and history process, it is inspected how these theories sprout and grow and form a type elementarily . Moreover , it pays an attention to the questions of these theories as well as their solutions and studies the special qualities of calligraphy art essence, calligraphy creations, calligraphy appreciation, etc .This thesis is mainly composed of six parts. The quotation part gives a explanation about the purpose and academic value of this thesis . Beforehand, it makes a direction about how to divide the periods of calligraphy theories in the period of beginning , and it also takes a simple recount about true or false of calligraphy treatises and the study content of this thesis . What it contains gives a good foreshadowing on the development of the study .The first chapter introduces the foundational conditions of the calligraphy art practice, ranging from writing to strictly writing, and the self-knowledge to show the certainty of occurrence of calligraphy theories.The second chapter elaborates the cultural mechanism about the occurrence of calligraphy theories and analyses the basis of it from, philosophy, literary and art , as well as other theory aspects .The third chapter takes the process of these theories as a center, whichcontains three periods ------ headwaters, preliminary construction and preliminaryaccomplishment, combs out the clue and process, etc.The fourth chapter summarizes the calligraphy theory system of the initial stage .The concluding remarks elaborate the status and historical significance of it during the history of calligraphy theories development.
