The frontier fortress poems of Yuefu had accumulated rich experiences of art during its long process of development, and had some distinctive style. The frontier fortress poems of Yuefu had reached its top at Tang dynasty. The previous study was affected by the traditional idea that ' only the prosperous period of Tang had excellent poems' ,and paid too much attention on the frontier fortress poems of Yuefu of the prosperous period of Tang .Although there are some studies on the frontier fortress poems of Yuefu of the mid-Tang in recent years, the study is mainly about the summarize of the process of development. The basic research method of this thesis is gathering relative poems and analyzing these poems, with reference of history books. Based on the case that the frontier fortress poems had some distinctive titles, and the poems of the same title have a similar style, this thesis divide the mid -Tang frontier fortress poems of Yuefu into several categories andanalysis them separately , according to their titles and content.The first part of the introduction define the concept of ' mid-Tangfrontier fortress poems of Yuefu' from three aspects :1,the concept of 'mid-Tang' in the history of Tang poems; 2,the concept of Yuefupoems; 3, the concept of the frontier fortress poems. The second part ofthe introduction reviewed relative study results. The first chapteranalysis four poems in Liu Zongyuan's four frontier fortress poems in his work Twelve Tang Naoge Guchui Songs: Tieshansui, Tuyuhun, Gaochang and Dongman, from writing motivation, content, the political idea in these poems and the common style. The second chapter analyze Longtou and Longtou Water poems of mid-Tang, and come to the conclusion that the art of Longtou and Longtou water poems of mid-Tang had became mature after long process of development, and 'Longtou Water' had became a symbol of soldiers' tragedies. Longtou Water poems are the most sorrowful poems in frontier fortress of Yuefu, and the sorrowful style is a great complement of many heroic works. The third chapter analyzed some Chusai, Rusai, Saishang Songs, Saixia Songs of mid-Tang. The fourth chapter analyze Guanshanyue and Duguanshan poems, and draw the conclusion that most of the Guanshanyue poems inherited the traditional style ,but Zhang Ji and Wang Jian's works showed some innovation based on the tradition, and their description focused on the painful life of soldiers. The fifth chapter analyzed Congjun Xing poems of mid-Tang, and draw the conclusion that Congjun Xing by Lu Lun and some other poets has the same style with the classical works ,and their focused on the tough life in army, but some of the Congjun Xing poems by Gu Kuang and the monk Jiao Ran show some innovation. Their description focused on the courage of soldiers and the firm conviction of defeat the enemies. Thesixth chapter analyzed Liangzhou Xing and Liangzhou Ci poems by Zhang Ji and Wang Jian ,which reflected the situation of northwest frontier of Tang ,and Liaodong Xing and Du liaoshui poems by Wang Jian, which reflected the painful life of soldiers who defended Liaodong. The seventh Chapter analyzed the frontier fortress poems in New Yuefu by Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi, and came to the conclusion that these poems show their strong sense of social responsibility. The eighth chapter analyzed some Representative images in mid-Tang frontier fortress poems of Yuefu, and summarized the position and affection of mid-Tang frontier fortress poems of Yuefu in the history of literature.
