Frontier Poems Of War And Peace Theme

Frontier poems of the Tang Dynasty is the essence of Chinese ancient literary heritage, particularly the poems of the hold Tang. My paper mainly deals with two themes — the war and the peace.Firstly, the war is the important theme that the frontier poem can't be avoided. Hold Tang poets while they extolling the war, praising the heroes, they also don't conceal a series of contradictions that the war brings to common people. This is quite common phenomenon in holding Tang poets. They often express this thought through two kinds of images —Teenager and Old General. The teenager represents the pursuing to youth, ideal and the fervency to the war; On the contrary, old general represents their self-examination to war. This viewpoint has profound social reasons. For these poets, it is a richer personalization behavior.Secondly, the peaceful theme of frontier poem has two major presentation— Folk custom amorous feeling and friend exchange among all the nationalities. Both the association in daily life and various exchanges and learning in culture and art all be recorded by those poets. Poets are always praises of excellent culture of minorities with enormous enthusiasm. All reflect the advanced national viewpoint of poets of hold Tang.Thirdly, about the art characteristic of hold Tang frontier poem, thispaper compares the frontier poems between South dynasty and Northdynasty .At the same time , especially shows three main art characters:the various forms, desolate grand and heroic style.
