College Music Teaching Vocal Music Appreciation Course

The paper, based on the theory of constructivism, analyses some problems such as the current status of students' knowledge and culture of the actual music, the music appreciation courses and the teaching methods of vocal appreciation in University. Then personal points and the specific implementation measures are presented. They include the choice of vocal materials and the specific implementation measures. And also, a new point on the request of the quality of teachers is presented. It will make teaching methods, teaching objects and teaching contents more scientific and rationalized.This text is divided into three parts:PART ONE: It analyses the status of students' musical quality in university and the importance of teaching and study on the vocal appreciation. On the basis of the present situation about music education in our primary and secondary schools since the 1990s and the implementation of new curriculum standards, it analyzes the situation about students' musical quality in university at this stage. An in-depth study on the importance of the study on the vocal music appreciation and the problems that often occurred in teaching process of music appreciation were conducted. Finally a suggestion is given for teaching and study on the vocal appreciation. PART TWO: with the guidelines of modern education and teaching concept, a personal point and suggestion were presented.
