Narrative Mode Of The New Chinese War Movie And Its Evolution

The paper studies the war picture during the fifty years after the PRC is founded , analyses the formation and development of its narrative mode and investigates the narrative structures, perspectives as well as its narrative languages.The paper has seven chapters. Chapter Ⅰ investigates the historical foundation of a fifty-year prosperity of new China war pictures and reveals the production theory of the filmmakers under this special circumstances. Chapter Ⅱ to Chapter Ⅵ are the major parts which present the formation and development of five narrative modes of war pictures , reveal the close connection between these modes evolution with the political context, social aesthetics and cultural questions in their respective historical periods, and give the evolution of their narrative strategies and languages under different historical contexts an emphasized analysis. Meanwhile, the different functions of the war pictures in five modes under the historical construction as well as their intercontextuality are also given.
