| The task of art teaching at college level includes not only technical training but also the training of students' artistic creativity. A retrospective view of the past decades can easily reveal that Chinese Plastic art teaching has been focusing on representing objectives. While the development of art both domestic and overseas tells us that it has already underwent several stages. Particularly, in the 20th century, modernism was on rapid development in western countries. In addition to its pursuit of idealistic innovation and identity representation, modernism pays more attention on the perceptive capacity and visual form of art itself by exploring the essence of model.The graphic study can be defined as a representation form which integrates western modernist art, prehistoric art, folk art. Breaking the bounds of objectives, Plastic art strives to achieve the harmony and balance of the graphic combinations to stimulate people's aesthetic feelings. The employment of graphic representation in plastic training helps to stimulate students' creativity to improve their abilities of expressing feelings and consciousness after the students learns the definition, classification, conception, formation, attainment, aesthetic perception and structure of graphics. Ultimately, the students are expected to shift their interests from objectives to models and focus on the research and study of formal language. Therefore, the students' aesthetic experience will be enhanced and the variety of their expression will be achieved. |
