In China, the finery colors of 56 nationalities vary along with their locations, cultures and folk-customs, and they influent and spread among each other at the same time. As two aspects of these colors, match color and pattern are both with brilliant individuality and characteristic, which not only provide infinite color inspiration for traditional Chinese realistic painting, but also bring nationality characteristic into it and infuse new energy and vital force into its development and innovation. They emphasis on constructing form elements and cultural symbols which are with nationality aesthetic characteristic and folk-custom aesthetic interests into producing form of modern painting, and try to syncretize them together, that is, combine traditional and modern aesthetics together, which meets the needs of times development. As for color, it is required to seek basic color series from national culture tradition, and then blend it with modern aesthetic idea together.Chinese painting has a long history. Despites many dynasties of development, the color is always one relative weakness during the development of Chinese painting. Traditional Chinese realistic painting is the origin of Chinese painting, and it became the most popular genre in Tang Dynasty. After Song and Yuan Dynasty, traditional Chinese realistic painting was replaced by literati wash painting. In different times, thecolors show different individuality, and the pursuits to colors are also different with the changing of the times. There are obvious similarities between color structure of nationality finery and traditional Chinese realistic painting. No matter in traditional Chinese realistic painting or in mineral color painting, the color configuration in nationality finery can be both exerted for innovation, and many outstanding artists in this field came forth. We can find out more potentials of nationality finery color. Besides, we can learn and use them for reference. The color system of traditional Chinese realistic painting is being reconstructed in order to satisfy the requirements of times development and the needs of modern aesthetics.This dissertation takes the use of nationality finery color in modern traditional Chinese realistic painting as the cut-in point. Through the review generalization about the origin, feature and symbolization of the color, I start with color and innovate traditional Chinese realistic painting, which make it show extraordinary splendor again. Since I became one postgraduate, I have been to many nationality locations to investigate and sketch, and summarized what I have learned from these experiences, then analyzed how to derive nutrition of national finery color from the woks of modern artists, so that they can conform times tide."Only when it belongs to the people does it belong to the world". It is very significant for the renovation and advancement of traditionalChinese realistic painting to plant expressive force of nationality finery color into traditional Chinese realistic painting.
