Zhangcao Calligraphy History Rheological Study

From the evolution of calligraphic styles, this thesis presents a detailed study of Zhangcao, including the historical process of its beginning, maturation and expanding. With the original Jian-Du Zhangcao as reference, Zhangcao styleworks of dynasties are considered in 3 calligraphy developing phases-"Jian-Du Era", "Script Era" and "Tablet Era". Together with the collation and the analysis of corresponding historical materials, the principles, characters and historical meanings of the Zhangcao aesthetic form are disclosed, which is containedin the development of calligraphy. And a unique opinion is also proposed about the stylistic meaning and aesthetic value of Jian-Du Zhangcao, Script-style Zhangcao and Tablet-style Zhangcao.
