When history came into modern times, China and Japan were forced to open their doors to outside world first with the pace of the capitalist powers invading the East Asia,and suffered serious political and economic aggression of Western powers. Although Korea avoided to be a victim temporarily because of its policy-maker Dayuanjun's tenacious resistance policy, ,it gradually became the "explosive cylinders" of the East Asia ,as well as the center of various international contradictions since the 1970s.Face the serious threat of Japan, European powers and the U.S., the government of late Qing Dynasty had to adapt traditional Zongfan relationship with Korea,and tried its best to show a positive attitude in Korean issues for the security of Korea and its mastership to Korea. To resist the powers' economic aggression and impact in Korea, the Qing government developed economic and trade relations with Korea positively, as economic means for the maintenance of its mastership.Therefore, the economic and trade relations between Qing and Korea have had been strengthened unprecedented since 1882 ,and made one of the most important period in the history of economic and trade relations between the two countries.This paper make a comprehensive exposition of the history of economic and trade relations between China and Korea in the late Qing porid.It is divided into four parts.The first part is about the international background of the development of economic and trade relations between China and Korea in the late Qing porid. In the late Qing, the traditional Zongfan relationship between China and Korea was denied and challenged by Japan, European powers and the U.S. .The challenges, especially the Japanese political and economic aggression to Korea posed a serious threat to the Zongfan relationship between China and Korea.The second part deals with the within environment of the development of Chinese economic and trade relations with Korea in the late Qing porid. On the one hand, the growing of pro-Japanese Korean "kaihua" forces increased the instability of the relations between China and Korea.They even rose "Jia Shen coup" that attempted to repeal the Zongfan relationship.
