This thesis focuses on the promulgation and acceptance of the"trinity", dissertating that western missionary came to china the second time after Jing Jiao and they had difference with Chinese scholars in accepting and understanding Christian doxy, thus there was synthesis and collision . Furthermore, with analyzing the way of promulgation and Chinese long traditional culture, the thesis points out the deeply cultural reason why the cross swords between Chinese culture and western culture failed in the end.This thesis has two parts. The first part, based on abundant resources, introduces the Chinese interpretation which was present in the bookmaking of the missionary in the late Ming and early Qing dynasty. As the result of the transcendence, the acceptance of the doxy presented the character of the belief, not the character of rational understanding. In order to make the Chinese accept and believe the"trinity", the missionary had been discoursing in the way of accomodating Chinese culture since Mathieu Ricci came to China. This part sums up the four ways of the missionary"s promulgation, i.e. metaphor, accommodating with Chinese character, accommodation Chinese ancient philosophy and narrating with Chinese social ethic and moral. The accommodation of the missionary had obvious mistake, and what was unbearable to those anti-Christianity who had the superiority complex was that the missionary amended Chinese culture, thus erupted the argument of"Yi Xia".The second part analyzes the thinking context which resulting in the situation. At that time, the Confucius were the true predominant ideologists. From Confucius the founder of the theory to Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming, the Confucius thinking had been in a long period of developing course. In the course there were some development and change, but the basic pragmatic thinking inherited from Confucius remained unchanged. The thesis discusses the main thinking of Confucius, Zhu Xi , Wang Yangming and the difference between their"Shen","Gui"and the idea of Christian God. The thesis also analyzes the deeply pragmatic idea in Chinese culture and interprets the collision and the end of the eastern and western collision which resulted in the promulgation of Christianity in the Ming and Qing dynasty.
